About
My name is Rhonda. To my husband, I’m simply Rhonda. To those who knew me as a kid, I’m Rhonda “Sue.” I’m also called Ma by my daughter and Guinea by my granddaughter.
I am just a southern girl who enjoys southern cooking, much like my mother did when I was growing up on a South Georgia tobacco farm. She would prepare a huge lunch for the field hands every day, and when I turned 13, that responsibility fell to me. Can I be honest? I hated it! (LOL) However, those days are long gone now, and I truly cherish the lessons learned from my hardworking parents. They, along with my other family members, are “good, salt of the earth people.”
As I reflect on my life, I’m often reminded of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse encourages me to embrace every adventure that comes my way, whether it’s trying a new recipe, exploring nature, or simply enjoying a quiet day on the porch.
I am grateful to have my family in my life, and I hope to share these blessings with them. Promoting positivity is important to me, so I make it a point to share uplifting words whenever I can. I believe that a kind word or a smile can make a huge difference in someone’s day.
I still live in the deep south on an old tobacco farm that was once owned by my father, and after working in public jobs for 30 years, I am finally able to enjoy staying closer to home. I work a little and play a lot, fully embracing this season of my life. I often look for little moments of adventure, whether that means exploring a new hiking trail or simply enjoying a sunset with my loved ones. Life is so much more fulfilling when we approach it with gratitude and a positive spirit!
