About

My name is Rhonda to my hubs, Rhonda “Sue” to all those who knew me as a kid, Ma to one daughter and Guinea to one granddaughter.

“I am just a southern girl that enjoys southern cooking”. I am the daughter of a South Georgia tobacco farmer and I grew up with all that it entails. My mother cooked a huge lunch for the “field hands” every day. When I was around 13 years of age, that job got passed off to me. Can I be honest and say “I hated it“! LOL Well, those days are long gone now and I will eagerly tell you how THANKFUL I am to have been raised by hardworking parents. I called them, and my other family members, “good, salt of the earth, people”. I have been blessed and I hope to pass these blessings along to my daughter and granddaughter. I still live in the deep south on an old tobacco farm that was once owned by my father. After working in the public for 30 years, I am finally getting to enjoy staying closer to home, I work a little and play ALOT. I intend to enjoy this season of my life to the fullest.

I spend my days creating a happy and nurturing home. A place my family can find rest and peace from the hustle and bustle of life. This can range from the simplest of chores like cooking, cleaning and maintaining to more complex task like growing and preserving our own food, helping to manage a business and chasing after a very active grand. I welcome you and invite you to follow along with me as I share this journey.
