Recovering from a crashed hard drive

Let me start by saying that my computer’s hard drive crashed about a month ago. I have since had one reinstalled but I was not able to salvage any of my programs or data files. My first thought was okay, no big deal. But, I quickly realized how all my day to day details are gone….gone forever(sad face). You see, I am a planner / organizer. I get such a huge rush in planning out my days, weeks, and months right down to the hour. I love to have a piece of paper in my hand at the end of a day that is covered in check marks. I can see everything that I accomplished and that truly makes my heart happy.

As the realization of how much was missing gradually sank in, I began to feel a pit in my stomach. All my work, GONE! Well, after just a few days of “stewing” on this, I changed by outlook and said, “now is a great time to regroup and reorganize.” YAY!!! Pit is gone from the tummy and adrenaline is flowing again.

Well, thank goodness I get a rush from reorganizing because it has taken me days to recreate my dreams and put them back on paper but I have loved it. I feel sharper, more focused than before. You see, I have a bad quality in that, if I see the same task every day, over and over, for months, I stop seeing it. I lose all adrenaline that normally pumps through my veins over dreaming, planning, organizing and accomplishing task. So, my dreams and plans needed a good “spring cleaning” if you will. I do hope that I can be smarter this go around and have my files backed up externally. I am lazy in the sense that if nothing ever happens, I don’t plan for it and I have been really lucky through the years with hard drives.

This is just the beginning of my Calendar – OH, ISN’T SHE LOVELY!!!

I feel so much better when I am organized – Can I get an AMEN?
