Apple-Nut Cake with Brown Sugar Butter Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups ap flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 splash roasted pecan oil
  • 3 cups apple finely diced
  • 1 cup nuts I prefer pecans
  • CAKE GLAZE
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 splash roasted pecan oil

Method
 

  1. Combine flour, soda, salt, sugar, spices, eggs, and oil; mix well.
    Add eggs one at a time beating after each.
    Add vanilla, apples, and nuts.
    Pour into a 13 X 9 baking pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until done. It only takes an hour in my oven. Pour glaze on while cake is still hot.
    GLAZE
    Combine all glaze ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes. Pour over hot cake.
